Etienne is a Flemish painter, born in Alken, Belgium and grew up in the Haspengouw fruit region. After studying at the Academies of Sint-Truiden and Hasselt in the 1990s and 2000s, and exhibiting both at home and abroad (see CV), he constantly strives to improve himself.
His passion for painting remains an ever-ongoing search for growth and perfection. For the past three years, he has been working under the mentorship of Gommaar Gilliams, a painter represented by Galerie Sofie Vandevelde.
Through the contrast between sweeping vistas and a restrained suggestion of human life, Etienne Jammaers evokes a feeling of humility and introspection. He invites us to reflect on the transient nature of our human endeavors against the backdrop of eternal landscapes.
Etienne's aim is not to minimize the significance of human presence within the landscapes, but to celebrate the resilience of nature and foster a deeper understanding of our place within it.
